Q: Can you tell us a little about you and how long have you been living in Singapore? How long have you been a SEW member?
Originally from UK, I have been living in Singapore for almost 8 years moving around the globe from UK, to Germany to USA and now here whilst raising four beautiful children. A trailing spouse she has supported her husbands career by upping and leaving for better opportunities without a second thought and supporting the children emotionally through all the transitions.
I became a member of SEW as soon as I met Amanda, so around 2015 and we had a wonderful chat. Amanda is wonderful warm person and inspiring too in many ways.
Hence one of my lipstick shades are named after her - Amanda
Q: What was the best thing about 2019?
Being a Personal Makeup Coach for 10+ years helping women learn how to look their best with my bespoke Private shopping and makeup lesson courses, I decided that it was time I took the next natural step and designed a unique tool to help women with their makeup. In 2019 I launched my own makeup brand, Sceptr Cosmetics. The brand is designed for tomorrows modern women who are looking for products that work as hard as they do and a brand they can relate to. Having launched just the lipstick products first, my hero product has yet to launch.
Q: What was the one thing you didn’t like about 2019? How have you learnt from this?
The worst part of 2019 is where I discovered the level of toxicity around me. People I trusted stabbed me in the back spiralling my world into depression and emotional pain. I am dealing with this still but luckily my family and my businesses keep me distracted from the negative repercussions I face even today.
Q: What are your resolutions for 2020 and how do you plan to follow through with them?
2020 is my year of hope, as I realise that life is what you make it, this year I want to prove I can do it, and be unapologetically amazing. I have product lines in the pipeline, have made interesting plans for my Sceptrhood brand , the wellbeing arm of my cosmetics brand and have already had my 1st Sceptrhood events and planning the 2nd ones. I'm also in talks with something very unique coming up as I collaborate with other brands, influencers and fellow entrepreneur. 2020 will be a new me, as long as I don't let hurt get the better of me.
Q: Lastly, what the best thing you love about SEW?
I love being part of SEW as I like meeting other inspiring entrepreneurs and watching their success. I truly am a woman for women person and SEW is definitely one of these platforms. Amanda has created a successful platform for female entrepreneurs to network online and offline and its always a joy to read posts by women asking for advice and offering advice on all Singapore matters. It’s a great place to meet new people too if you are new to Singapore.
